Question: What information is included in an eviction record?
Answer: Eviction records include personal information including person’s name, date of birth, age, social security number (when available), previous address information on file, and the eviction record itself; which gives the person’s name, address, file date, case number, judgment amount, and name of the plaintiff. Some records may only contain partial information, as sometimes not all the information above is reported.

Question: What information is included in a criminal record?
Answer: A criminal background record typically includes the defendant's name, date of birth, case number, date of offense, date filed, charge, the parties involved, county and state of incident, description of offense, alias names used by offender, the status of the case, disposition, disposition date, sentence, and unique characteristics of the individual including height, weight, eye color, race, and sex. The information contained in a criminal record report will vary depending on the state being searched. Regulations, rules and filing practices vary in each jurisdiction, and as a result the information contained in a record from one state in the country could significantly differ from that in another. For instance, some states have pictures available for criminals, which you would receive, while others do not.

Question: How long will it take to receive the results of my eviction and/or criminal record search?
Answer: All of our instant eviction and criminal record searches are returned to you within seconds. However, if many records are found then it can take a minute or two to retrieve all the records. The eviction and criminal record searches that are non-instant take up to 1 to 4 business for you to receive your results at which time you will be notified by email.
Question: How long will it take to receive the results of my criminal record search?
Answer: All of our criminal record searches are returned within seconds except for the following states:

- Louisiana
- Delaware
- South Dakota

The results for the states outlined above are typically returned in 1 business day, but could take as long as 5 business days.
Question: What do I need before I can perform an eviction record and/or a criminal record search on an individual?
Answer: The name and date of birth of the person being investigated is the minimum requirement in order to perform a search on our site.
Question: Do I need permission from the person I wish to perform an eviction record search on or criminal background check on, before I perform it?
Answer: Eviction and criminal records are public information. Permission is not required to perform an eviction or criminal records search for most purposes. An exception to this is in the case of employment screening, where permission from the job applicant is generally required before the potential employer runs the background check. It is always wise to keep up-to-date with new laws pertaining to your field of business, so check your state and local laws to ensure you are compliant with them.

Question: Will I be charged for a search that comes back with “No Records Found”?
Answer: Yes. A confirmation of where the search was conducted will be sent back to you along with the search information used in performing your search, and the fact that “no records were found”. We have to charge our customers for the search regardless of whether or not records are found, because we incur costs every time we run a search.
Question: How far back does the data from EvictionRecords.com go?
Answer: Before you perform a search you can view a full description of what that search covers, including how far back the data for that search goes.
**For Example: Arizona eviction record data goes back to 1996 while Florida criminal record searches go back 60 years (correctional data only, court information goes back 7 years as described in Florida Criminal Record Search Description).
Question: “I know this person has a criminal record, why did your search come up with no records found”?
Answer: When your search results do not show a criminal record that you expected to find, we have come up with the top reasons that explain why you may think or feel a person has a criminal record but no records where found.
- The person was never convicted of a crime. Remember, being arrested alone does not constitute a criminal record. A person must be convicted of a crime before they get a criminal record.
- The criminal offenses were recorded under a different name and/or date of birth then the one you searched with.
- The criminal records are too new and have not yet been updated in the public records repositories we access to conduct your search.
- The criminal record is in a different state then the state you searched.
- The criminal records have been sealed and are no longer accessible to the public. This typically happens in the case of minors with criminal offenses.
- The criminal records have been expunged (they have been permanently removed which requires the intervention of a judge).
Question: How long does it take to get setup and start running reports?
Answer: The amount of time it takes to go through our setup process is exactly “0” seconds. The amount of time it takes to complete an order on our site varies by person, but one of our staff was clocked at 52 seconds (from typing in our website URL to viewing his results). Not too shabby.
